A canine cause we truly believe in
We fundamentally disagree with breed-specific legislation that marginalises and stigmatizes responsible dog owners and their beloved pets. The Stella, our bed and breakfast in Llandudno, North Wales, is designed to welcome ALL dogs, regardless of breed.

"Arrived at the most beautiful @stella_llandudno. The owner is massively against breed-specific legislation and experienced the same stigma battle with her previous dog. We are so grateful to be accepted somewhere with no judgement and welcomed with open arms and love."

The Stella's dog friendly ethos: It started with a very special dog

My journey to restore The Stella was one of big risks, serendipity, sweat, tears and laughter. It was also a journey fueled by a dog named Buxley. Her legacy is our purpose.
Pups & purpose
For many of us, dogs are more than just pets—they’re soulmates, best friends, and family members. Buxley was this dog for me. She was a constant companion who inspired me to restore The Stella as a welcoming home for all.
As a dog owner seeking B&Bs in Llandudno, Wales, I experienced the challenge of finding truly dog-friendly accommodations. Travelling with Buxley, particularly because of her size and pedigree, often made me feel judged and excluded from many places. Even when I found a B&B that accepted her, I never felt genuinely welcomed.
Thus, The Stella was born. In early 2023, I embarked on reviving this historic space with tasteful design and all the comforts for both humans and dogs, with Buxley by my side.
Sadly, shortly after starting the renovations, Buxley passed away from an aggressive cancer. What began as a personal quest to create a place welcoming of MY dog evolved into a commitment to ensure that B&Bs in Llandudno, Wales, are truly welcoming for YOUR dog as well.
About us

Kristin is the managing founder of The Stella and oversees the day-to-day operations of our B&B in Llandudno. Originally from California, Kristin is proud to now call Llandudno home. The town’s picturesque topography—with its glorious seaside, hills, sweeping promenade, and pier—reminds her of her hometown of Santa Barbara. She has infused The Stella’s design with the upscale yet laid-back sensibilities that are characteristic of Santa Barbara, creating a uniquely inviting atmosphere for our Llandudno B&B. The legacy of her beloved late dog Buxley continues to be a driving force for The Stella's dog welcoming ethos.
In 2026, Kristin adopted Oakley, a friendly staffy to keep Kristin company behind the scenes. While Oakley isn't in The Stella's guest areas, you'll often spot him and Kristin exploring Llandudno—especially West Shore Beach!
