The Stella House Agreements

As a guest at The Stella, you play an important role in co-creating a community designed around rest, exploration, and great company. We invite you to learn more about our policies, promises and pet friendly commitments!

  • Do you ever have 1-night stays?
Some rooms are bookable for 1-night during the off season.
  • Why do you have a 2-night minimum?
We pride ourselves on being a dog-friendly establishment offering quality guest rooms with a high standard of cleanliness. As such, we have a 2-night minimum stay in place because this allows us the ability to better clean our guest rooms than would be allowed by rapid room changeovers. Please note: The Stella has a 2-night minimum stay for most rooms, but some rooms are bookable for 1-night during the off season.
  • Do you allow smoking?
We are a non-smoking establishment and do not accept smoking or vaping inside the property. Any guests found to be in breach of this policy will be asked to leave immediately. If we discover that guests have smoked inside, we will debit their card with the cost of an extra night’s stay to cover additional cleaning and airing of the room.
  • Is breakfast included in the guest room rate?
All guest room reservations are inclusive a Californian-inspired Continental breakfast.
  • What is the payment policy?
50% of the reservation price is taken at the point of booking. The outstanding total of the reservation price is automatically taken the day prior to check-in, from the card on file used to pay the deposit. Please refer to our “Policies and Terms & Conditions” tab for more information.
  • Are children allowed?
Due to the historic nature of The Stella, many of the 19th century original features are regrettably not designed for young children. As such, The Stella discourages children under the age of 8 years old, and does not provide any child-friendly amenities such as cots or highchairs.
  • Is there a guest Code of Conduct?
The Stella strives to ensure a positive environment is maintained and we ask that our guests do also. We reserve the right to send guests away from the property due to their conduct and behaviour, or for any other safety or security reasons.
  • What is a "Californian-inspired" Continental breakfast?
A healthy start to the day is a priority to a Californian diet. So in addition to freshly baked pastries, breakfast spreads at The Stella daily include items such as seasonal fresh fruit cups and overnight protein oats. Avocado toast on sourdough bread is also a favourite, with the avocado option based upon seasonable availability. Additionally, no good day in California could start without a good cup of coffee, which is why The Stella sources a special roast for guests from San Francisco. There's also virgin mimosas, if you'd like to indulge your citrus tastebuds.
  • Does the property have internet?
Free, wireless broadband internet is available throughout the property.
  • What time is check in and check out?
We ask that guests check in between 3-7 PM on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. If you will be arriving after 7pm, please let us know before then; we occasionally have commitments in the evening and want to ensure someone is here to greet you. Check out is 11 AM on the day of your departure.
  • Do you have a lift in the property?
The Stella does not have a lift, and is unfortunately not suitable for people with mobility challenges, due to the layout of the premises originating from the age of the building. We are not able to offer wheelchair accessible features, such as lifts, and there are a number of stairs at the property, some that are quite steep.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation requests must be made in writing by emailing info@StellaLlandudno.com. Cancellation requests made with more than 7 days' notice will receive a 90% refund of the deposit (a full deposit refund less 10% for transaction processing fees). Cancellations made with 7 days’ notice or less forfeit the deposit paid; the deposit will be retained by The Stella. In the event of no-show, the outstanding price of the reservation will be charged to the card used to pay the deposit.
  • I don’t see any availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; are you closed mid-week?
The Stella is open weekly Thursdays-Mondays and welcomes guests throughout the year on those days. The Stella is closed mid-week, with the exception of some special holidays, in order to refresh the property and ensure optimal guest experience when we are open.
  • Do you have a secure location for me to store my pedal bike?
You're welcome to lock your bike on the railing at the rear of the property. Alternatively, you can keep your pedal bike in inside in our utility room, which is a locked room that we can access for you.
  • Where can I park my car?
Reservations in The Joyce Suite and The Lorena Room include one parking spot each in the private drive to the rear of the Stella. Guests booked into The Joyce Suite or The Lorena Room can park in their pre-reserved space from 2pm on the day of arrival until 1pm the day of departure. For those booked in any of our other guest rooms, street parking is available around Llandudno. There are a variety of metered parking options around town, and street parking is available on the frontage of The Stella along Church Walks on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Is there an extra fee for dogs?
The Stella does not levy a pet fee; dogs traveling with their humans are included in the guest room rate.
  • Do you offer pet sitting?
We are currently in the process with Conwy Council to become licensed as a pet sitting establishment, so if you're travelling with your dog but would like to catch a show at Venue Cymru or a dinner at a restaurant that doesn't allow dogs, we will soon offer evening dog sitting services to allow you to enjoy such activities during your stay. This option will be made available to our guests as soon as we are granted permission by the Council. Please note: Per The Stella's pet policy, dogs may be left unattended in a guest bedroom for a short time, as long as their owner is still onsite. However, dogs cannot be left unattended in guest rooms when their owner leaves The Stella’s premises. The Stella's pet sitting service, when approved by the Council, will thus be to facilitate human guests to enjoy some dog-free Llandudno activities during their stay.
  • Can I bring my dog(s)?
Yes! The Stella prides itself on being designed as a very pet-friendly establishment, and each guest room can accomodate up to two dogs with their humans. The Stella has a pet policy in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all; please refer to our Pet Policy for more information.
  • What are your Pet Policy pet terms and conditions?
In order to ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests, any human accompanied by their dog(s) agrees to the following terms and conditions: Dogs must be on a controlled leash at all times in common areas. Dogs may be left unattended in a guest bedroom for a short time, as long as their owner is still onsite. However, dogs cannot be left unattended in guest rooms when their owner leaves The Stella’s premises. Owners are responsible for all property damage (including and not limited to accommodation rooms) and/or personal injuries resulting from their dog(s). The Stella reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate with the cost of any damages. Any disturbances (such as barking) must be curtailed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced. The Stella reserves the right to require removal from the premises of any guest (dog or human) that displays dangerous or unacceptable behavior, including—but not limited to—biting, excessive noise, or evidence of fleas. Dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations and on a flea program. Management may ask for proof of vaccinations; these records must be provided upon request. The Stella provides in-room dog amenities for use during your stay. Please leave all in-room dog amenities behind for the next guest. The Stella reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate with the cost of any replacement fee.
  • Is there a limit on the number of dogs?
Each guest room can accommodate up to two dogs with their humans. This limit of two dogs per guest room is due to space constraints in our B&B's communal areas (including entrance hall and stairways) that are frequented by all guests.
  • Do you have size or breed restrictions?
The Stella welcomes all dogs, no matter their size or breed. A note: Some of the dogs that stay at the Stella may be required to wear a muzzle in public due to government-mandated breed specific legislation. However, we kindly also ask that dogs of nervous or reactive temperaments be muzzled whilst in common areas. There is absolutely no shame in muzzle use! To the contrary, we applaud responsible dog owners’ use of muzzles.
