What are the main booking terms I should know before I reserve?

Your room rate is based on an ensuite guest room. Breakfast is included on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings, plus throughout the Christmas and New Year period. At booking, you pay a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is automatically charged to the card on file the day before check-in. Our booking system is PCI-compliant for secure payments.

Is breakfast provided with my stay?

All guest room reservations include a Californian-inspired Continental breakfast during regular bed and breakfast operations (i.e. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings and holidays/special events). The Joyce Suite is self-catering mid-week when normal bed and breakfast operations are paused.

What is a "Californian-inspired" Continental breakfast?

A healthy start to the day is a priority to a Californian diet. So in addition to freshly baked pastries, breakfast spreads at The Stella daily include items such as seasonal fresh fruit cups and overnight protein oats. Avocado toast on sourdough bread is also a favourite, with the avocado option based upon seasonable availability.  Additionally, no good day in California could start without a good cup of coffee, which is why The Stella sources a special roast for guests from San Francisco.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation requests must be made in writing by emailing info@stellallandudno.com.

For routine reservations, cancellation requests made with more than 7 days' notice will receive a 90% refund of the deposit (a full refund minus a 10% processing fee). Cancellations made with 7 days’ notice or less forfeit the deposit paid; the deposit will be retained by The Stella.

For block bookings of the property for chartered groups or exclusive special events, the deposit is non-refundable.

In the event of no-show, the outstanding price of the reservation will be charged to the card used to pay the deposit.

Absolutely, The Stella is very dog friendly! In fact, The Stella is the proud recipient of the Visit Wales Pets Welcome Award and the Go North Wales Tourism Best Pet Friendly Business Award, in recognition of our exceptional commitment as a dog-welcoming establishment. At the Stella, dogs are truly welcomed; we are proud to be the most dog welcoming accommodation in Llandudno and have a dog policy in place for the safety and comfort of all our guests. What is your dog policy?

In order to ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests, any human accompanied by their dog(s) agrees to the following terms and conditions: Dogs must be on a controlled leash at all times in common areas. Dogs may be left unattended in a guest bedroom for a short time, as long as their owner is still onsite. However, dogs cannot be left unattended in guest rooms when their owner leaves The Stella’s premises.Owners are responsible for all property damage (including and not limited to accommodation rooms) and/or personal injuries resulting from their dog(s). The Stella reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate with the cost of any damages. Some of the dogs that stay at The Stella may be required to wear a muzzle in public due to government mandated breed specific legislation. However, we also ask that dogs of nervous or reactive temperaments be muzzled whilst in common areas. There is absolutely no shame in muzzle use! To the contrary, we applaud responsible dog owners’ use of muzzles.Any disturbances (such as barking) must be curtailed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced. The Stella reserves the right to require removal from the premises of any dog that displays dangerous or unacceptable behaviour/attributes, including—but not limited to—biting, excessive noise, excessive odour or evidence of fleas. Dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations and on a flea program.Our dog policy allows dogs to stay free of charge. However, if your dog’s presence results in lingering odours or requires additional cleaning beyond our standard thorough cleaning process, we reserve the right to charge a fee equivalent to an additional night’s stay to cover the extra time and resources required for a deep cleaning and airing of the room.The Stella provides in-room dog amenities for use during your stay. Please leave all in-room dog amenities behind for the next guest. The Stella reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate with the cost of any replacement fee.

Are children allowed?

Children under the age of 5 are not permitted. Due to the historic nature of The Stella, we are not able to accommodate infants or small children, in accordance with modern building regulations relating to the finished floor levels (FFL) of The Stella's 19th century original features.

Do you have disabled access?

The Stella does not have disabled access or a lift, and is unfortunately not suitable for people with mobility challenges, due to the building's historic layout. We are not able to offer wheelchair accessible features, and there are a number of stairs at the property, some that are quite steep.

Do you have any guest bedrooms on the ground floor?

No, all of our guest rooms are located on the upper floors of the building. As The Stella is a historic Victorian property, guest accommodation is accessed via stairs, and we do not have any ground-floor bedrooms available.

Free, wireless internet is available throughout the property.

What parking options are available when you stay at The Stella?

If you’re staying in the Joyce Suite or the Lorena Room, you’ll have free onsite parking included. For our other guest rooms, metered and street parking options are available nearby.

What time is check in and check out?

We ask that guests check in between 3-8 PM on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.

If you will be arriving after 8 PM, please let us know before then; we occasionally have commitments in the evening and want to ensure someone is here to greet you.

Check out is 11 AM on the day of your departure.

We are closed for bed and breakfast on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, except for holidays and special events.  The Joyce Suite is available all week but is self-catering when the normal bed and breakfast operations are paused; this means that for multi-day reservations in The Joyce Suite, mid-week stays are self-catering while Friday-Monday mornings include breakfast.

Is smoking allowed on the property?

No, smoking or vaping is not allowed inside the property. Guests found violating this policy will be asked to leave and charged an extra night's stay for additional cleaning.

The Stella strives to maintain a positive environment and we ask that our guests do also. We reserve the right to send guests away from the property due to their conduct and behaviour, or for any other safety or security reasons.

How do I pay for my booking?

A 50% deposit is taken at the time of booking. The remaining balance is automatically charged to the card on file the day before check-in. Our booking system is PCI-compliant for secure card payments.The Stella operates a card-only payment policy and does not accept cash payments. This helps us provide a safe, efficient service, reduce fraudulent bookings and no-shows, and maintain accurate payment records.

Do you have a secure location for me to store my pedal bike?

You're welcome to lock your bike on the railing at the rear of the property. Alternatively, you can keep your pedal bike inside our utility room, which is a locked room that we can access for you.

Accepted Answer

No, cats or pets other than dogs are not allowed at The Stella. As a genuinely dog friendly property, The Stella has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for both our canine and human guests. Many of our guests travel with their dogs, and introducing cats or other animals into this setting could create challenges for the wellbeing and comfort of all involved.

Yes, The Stella is VAT registered, and provides VAT invoices upon request.

Do you host private parties/groups?

Accepted Answer

The Stella is rentable for exclusive use to private parties and groups! Additionally, we can offer bespoke event support to help arrange special occasions.

Discounted rates: Bookings of three or more rooms as part of the same reservation will receive a 20% discount on the total booking value. Reservations for all 7 guest rooms will receive a 25% discount on the total booking value. Discounts for group bookings cannot be combined with any other offers or promotional codes.
Payment terms: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total booking value is required at the time of reservation. The remaining balance is due 1 day prior to arrival.
Length of stay: A minimum stay of 2 nights is required.
