Some good news is worth wagging about! The Stella has once again been recognised as one of the most dog-friendly businesses in North Wales, with a place on the shortlist for the Go Pet Friendly of the Year category.

The award is part of the Go North Wales tourism awards, which celebrate the people and places helping to make North Wales such a welcoming destination. This year’s winner will be announced at the awards dinner on 19 November at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

It’s a lovely moment for The Stella team. It also means a lot because The Stella won this award in 2025. We shared more about that win in a previous blog, but this new finalist spot shows something just as important: The Stella’s dog-welcoming ethos hasn’t been a one-off. It’s still at the heart of what we do.

The Stella’s dog-welcoming ethos

The Stella’s mission is to make dogs feel welcome without making their humans feel awkward.

That sounds simple, but it takes thought. Dog-friendly hospitality can’t just be a sentence on a website. It has to show up in the way a business communicates, greets guests, and creates a calm, kind experience.

At The Stella, the dog-welcoming ethos is built around a few clear ideas.

Dogs are part of the guest experience.

They’re not an afterthought. If a guest arrives with a dog, that dog is part of the visit. The welcome should reflect that.

People should feel at ease.

Travelling with a dog can come with extra planning. The aim is to make the experience lighter, not harder.

Clear information helps everyone.

Good dog-friendly service is warm, but it also needs to be practical. Guests should understand what to expect so they can plan properly.

Kindness matters.

Some dogs are confident. Some are nervous. Some are young, old, excitable, or still learning. A patient approach makes a big difference.

That’s the mission in everyday terms. Welcome the dog. Support the owner. Keep things clear. Make the visit feel easy.

It’s not about treating dogs as a gimmick. It’s about recognising how people travel now. For many guests, a dog-friendly place isn’t just a nice bonus. It’s the deciding factor.

Winning in 2025 made this recognition even more special

The Stella was proud to be named the winner of the Go Pet Friendly of the Year award in 2025. That moment was a real boost for the team, and it gave public recognition to something that had already become part of The Stella’s identity.

This new finalist place feels special for a different reason.

Winning an award is brilliant. Being recognised again afterwards shows consistency. It suggests that the standards have continued, the welcome has remained strong, and the dog-friendly approach is still being noticed.

That matters because genuine hospitality is never a finished task. It has to be repeated every day. Every booking, every arrival, every question, and every dog through the door is a chance to get it right again.

The Stella is honoured to be shortlisted after last year’s success. It’s a reminder that dog-friendly service is not just about a badge or a trophy. It’s about the ongoing choices that shape how guests feel. The 2025 win will always be a proud part of The Stella’s story. This finalist recognition adds another chapter.

A sincere thank you to every guest who travels with their canine companions

Awards are lovely, but they don’t happen in a vacuum.

The Stella’s dog-friendly story has been shaped by the guests who choose to visit with their dogs. Every wagging tail, muddy paw, sleepy post-walk snooze, and happy return visit has helped make dog-friendly hospitality part of daily life here.

Those guests have shown why this matters.

They’ve shown that dogs are not extras. They’re companions. They’re part of birthdays, weekends away, coastal walks, rainy afternoons, and quiet breaks. They change how people choose where to go, where to stay, and where to return.

The Stella is truly grateful for every guest who has trusted us to welcome both them and their dog(s)!
